Thanks for visiting my webpages. Mirkwood Ponies are situated in the heart of Scotland. All of my homebred ponies have been bred from bloodlines carefully researched and selected by myself and all have super temperaments and have proven themselves to be wonderful childrens ponies. Mirkwood Ponies have been and continue to be successful in the showring both inhand and under saddle.


Although I don't ride myself anymore, in my younger days I showed ponies under saddle as well as hunting and jumping and other fun things. As my children became older and became more demanding with their ponies I gave up ridden showing myself 10 years ago and concentrated on them and their ponies instead. My youngest daughter, Eleanor, is now chief mucker outer and rider! I bought my first Shetland pony 18 years ago and after a spell working at a long established Scottish Shetland Stud in the 90s, I decided these were the ponies that I wanted to breed and show and have never looked back.
